How Procrastination Ruins Photography
Rather than lounging around on Sunday morning, I decided to get up extra early and go out and make some photographs. I wanted to catch the morning light and just enjoy walking around Pasadena and Altadena.
It was a morning rich with opportunities to see my community with new eyes. First off, it was early enough that there weren't many people out on the street. So, the usual fodder for my street photography was nowhere to be had. Secondly, it would allow me to see a very familiar environment under very different circumstances.
I felt like I had experienced a pretty successful morning when I was driving back home and spotted the light hitting the front of this church. I immediately knew it would make a good photograph, but I continued driving past it as I was eager to get back home.

My 3 Favorite Camera Straps
When I got started in photography, the last thing I ever thought I would have a serious discussion about would be camera straps. What was the point? You just used the one that came in the box or the one that you had from a previous camera and that was the end of the story.
Now, the simple camera strap has evolved, especially in the minds of some inventive engineers. It’s amusing sometimes to hear people be as opinionated about the strap as they are the make and model of camera. But hey, photographers are never at a shortage of things to debate about.
I’ve had a chance to use a variety of straps over the years and I face the same conundrum I contend with when it comes to a camera bag. I have yet to find the one strap to rule them all. However, I have found a few straps that I tend to favor for a variety of reasons and cameras.

Revisiting Old Images - NYC 2009
I was asked to look into my archive for an image an article being written by a friend of mine. It resulted in me browing through a set of images that I took back in 2009, when I was teaching a photo workshop in New York.
Most of the images made that day were created more for scouting locations rather than walking away with some good imagery. So, I didn't give many of these photographs any considerations when I made them and after I returned home. I simply downloaded the images and moved on to the next project.
